Description

61. Favela (Slum), 1965. Heitor dos Prazeres painted this colorful depiction of the famous hillside slums of Rio de Janeiro, their Black inhabitants, and the landmark Corcovado Mountain behind. Like the Haitian primitivists, Prazeres incorporates an abundance of realistically-rendered detail in his works.
