Even when a crippling disease affected his hands, Aleijadinho continued to produce such masterpieces as the twelve soapstone prophets and the sixty-six wood figures in the stations of the cross depicting Christ's Passion.16) Vista da Igreja do Bom Jesus de Matozinhos, em Congonhas do Campo, com seus profetas em pedra-sabão. Apesar de sofrer de uma doença que deformou suas mãos, Aleijadinho continuou a produzir tais obras de arte, como os doze profetas em pedrasabão e as sessenta e seis figuras de madeira da Via Sacra, representando a Paixão de Cristo.
