Abstract
This study enhances the research done in a January 2004 study by the same author on the economic impact of the University of New Mexico on the New Mexico economy that included an analysis of the commercialization of technology and economic development in high-tech industries. This study examines the Science & Technology Corporation, a subsidiary of the University of New Mexico, and its role in fostering high-tech start-up companies since 1997.
