Abstract: This law declares Costa Rica's interest in the exploration of geothermal energy resources. It states that all activities concerning geothermal energy are the sole responisbility of the Instituto Costarricense de Electricidad (ICE). Under this law, ICE is authorized to acquire all land required for research, exploration, exploitation and protection of geothermal resources, applying the provisions of Act No 2292 of November 20, 1958.
