Description

A lithograph depicting Lampião's "arrival in hel1." The outlaw Lampião (Virgolino Ferreira da Silva), seen by many sertanejos as a kind of Robin Hood of the sertão, was chased by government forces throughout the region for several years in the ear1y part of this century. He was finally caught and beheaded, yet his story and legend is sung throughout the sertão.Litografia mostrando a "chegada de Lampião ao inferno".
