The city continues to grow and has one of the highest growth rates in Latin America. Nevertheless, the infrastructure to absorb these people needs to accompany this rapid population growth.Assembléia Legislativa Estadual, próxima ao parque Ibirapuera. É aqui que numerosos desafios sócio-económicos que enfrenta a cidade, são discutidos na busca de soluções. A cidade continua a crescer, possuindo uma das maiores taxas de crescimento da América Latina. Obviamente a infra-estrutura para absorver estas pessoas é necessária para acompanhar o rápido crescimento populacional.
