Sugarcane engenho with the casa grande (mansion or main house) and chapel located in Igaraçu (PE) in northeastern Brazil. Brazil's lack of urban indigenous populations like those found in Peru and Mexico, and the labor intensive sugar export economy that the Portuguese implemented shaped the development of Salvador.Engenho de cana-de-açúcar com a Casa Grande (residência do senhor) e a capela situada em Igaraçu (PE) no Nordeste do Brasil.
