Description

In an area with many large rivers and heavy rainfall small river ferryboats, such as this one near Rolim de Moura (RO), serve as essential "bridges" along the various new roads and highways that are being built to connect the Northern region with the rest of the country. On similar buses, primarily landless low income families, have flocked to states like Rondónia and Acre, where the government has promised them free or cheap land.
