Abstract: Functional neuroimaging promises to collectively elucidate the pathophysiology of cognitive impairment in depression. The interested clinician and the functional imaging investigator need to stay current with the literature of this rapidly evolving field. This paper describes the development of a systematic and replicable search strategy for this rapidly evolving field. The final PubMed search strategy resulted in an optimal “signal-to-noise ratio” of pertinent articles for this important clinical problem.
