dc.description.abstractNepal Study Center conducted its Second Annual Himalayan Policy Research Conference at the University of Wisconsin’s pre-conference venue of the 36th South Asian Conference on October 11, 2007. The conference was organized in seven sessions, running simultaneously in two rooms during the entire day. A wide range of topics were covered such as: environment, poverty, inequality, conflict, natural resources, GIS, land use, remittance, ethnicity and gender. Most papers presented in the conference were driven by analytical approach but with deep policy implications. The present volume puts together papers, abstracts, and proceedings of the above conference.en_US
