2015 Multi-Sector General Permit (MSGP)

Sandia National Laboratories (SNL) is a multi-program laboratory managed and operated by Sandia Corporation (Sandia), a wholly owned subsidiary of Lockheed Martin Corporation, for the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA). The DOE/NNSA, Sandia Field Office administers contract DE-AC04-94AL85000 and oversees contractor operations at the site. SNL is located within the boundary of Kirtland Air Force Base, immediately southeast of Albuquerque, New Mexico (NM).

Industrial stormwater discharges from SNL/NM are regulated under the National Discharge Elimination System Multi-Sector General Permit (MSGP) issued by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) on June 4, 2015. DOE and Sandia filed Notices of Intent (NOIs) for permit coverage on August 31, 2015, and subsequently received approval from EPA on September 30, 2015 under Tracking Numbers NMR053114 and NM4053122, respectively.
