Student Special Events

ASUNM Student Special Events (SSE) provides the University of New Mexico with fun and entertaining special events that appeal to a wide variety of UNM’s student population. These events include concerts, speakers, multicultural events, comedians, and other interactive events, as well as any event that may further educate the undergraduate student body.

Executive Director

The Executive Director is responsible for overseeing the execution of events and marketing. The Executive Director will develop a plan of action and work with other SSE directors to bring a wide array of events to the student body. The Executive Director is responsible for building a strong volunteer base through weekly meetings as well as working with other student groups through co-sponsoring events.

Promotions Director

The Promotions Director is responsible for booking weekly noontime concerts as well as any other musical acts on campus. The Promotions Director is responsible for working with SSE directors to book musical acts for the annual Fiestas event.

Marketing Director

The Marketing Director is responsible for marketing various SSE events by creating online events pages, as well as posters and fliers and any other format necessary to promote events.

Cultural Director

The Cultural Director is responsible for bringing in acts that expose students to different cultures. They work with cultural groups on campus to co-sponsor their events. They are also responsible for coordinating the annual spring festival Fiestas.

Speakers Director

The Speakers Director is responsible for providing different speakers, comedians, and various entertaining acts to perform for the students of UNM.
