Southwest Film Center
The ASUNM Southwest Film Center is dedicated to bringing UNM students the best in arthouse, experimental, foreign, cult and independent cinema — most of it on good ol’ 35mm! SWFC is located on the lower level of the UNM Student Union Building and holds screenings Thursday-Sunday throughout the Fall and Spring semesters.
Executive DirectorThe Executive Director is responsible not only for overseeing day-to-day office and theater operations, but also for the construction of each semester’s schedule of films. On a daily basis, the director manages SWFC’s other employees as well as its budget, and generally ensures the organization’s smooth and effective operation.
Assistant DirectorThe Assistant Director is responsible mostly for assisting with the directorial duties — they maintain relationships with distributors, help build the semester schedule, help out with projection and theater management, and help with marketing duties.
Marketing DirectorThe Marketing Director is responsible for advertising in both print media and online. Their duties include: designing each semester’s printed schedule, weekly advertisements for the Alibi, and posters and fliers for on and off campus distribution, maintaining the organization’s online image, and executing creative marketing methods.
