Abstract

In February of this year, I commissioned a study of our campus climate to assess the issues and concerns of the University of New Mexicos African American/Black faculty, staff, students, and community members. The following report is the result of that effort. I want to thank all who took part in contributing their perspectives, experiences, and ideas as part of this initiative. I especially want to thank our external consultants, Daniel Hernandez, J.D. and Wanda S. Mitchell, Ed. D., who designed and conducted this assessment. Their report and recommendations will provide guidance to all of us as we move forward to engage in institutional dialogue, planning, and decision\u2010making to advance UNM's commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.'
