A lone wagon stands at the abandoned railway station in Lajeado Alto (BA). ln the past, the railroad network was more intensiveIy used to transport goods and passengers from the interior to the coastaI cities. Today much of this network has been neglected in favor of highway transportation.Uma solitária carroça na estação abandonada da estrada de ferro em Lajedo Alto (BA). No passado, a rede da estrada de ferro foi usada mais intensamente para o transporte deprodutos e passageiros do interior para as cidades da costa. Hoje, muito dessa rede tem sido negligenciado a favor do transporte por estradas de rodagem.
