Description
Berimbau and pandeiro during capoeira demonstration (Salvador). Three berimbau sizes exist, each with a different tone. Each caooeira tone receives a different name such as São Bento Grande (fast, loud and requiring aggressive styles), Sdo Bento Grande de Angola (slow and any style may be employed), etc. The caxixi (see Figure 1) is filled with pebbles and when shaken functions as a rattle.Berimbau e pandeiro durante uma demonstração de capoeira (Salvador). Existem três tipos de berimbau, cada um com um tom diferente. Cada tom de capoeira recebe diferentes nomes, tais como São Bento Grande (rápido, alto e requerendo estilos agressivos), e São Bento Grande de Angola (lento,e qualquer estilo pode ser usado). O caxixi (veja figura 1) é enchido com calhau e quando sacudido funciona como um chocalho.
