It has managed to reduce its population growth from an average of 3% in the 1950's to 2.1 % in the middle 1980's. Nevertheless, Brazil faces enormous problems in extending social programs both to city slums and to distant rural regions.Família com quatro filhos em frente a uma cabana de barro melhorada. Contudo, o Brasil encara enormes problemas ao tentar estender programas sociais tanto para as favelas da cidade como para as regiões rurais distantes.
