Description

A thick forest tree with bare trunk. Equatorial "terra firme" rain forest displays various echelons of vegetation. The unflooded areas are quite fertile, yet most of the Amazon Basin topsoil is easily washed away through erosion if the forest is wet, leaving the ground unproductive after a few years. The low levels of the forest are dark and monotonous for flowers are found on1y in higher levels where light reaches down.Uma grande árvore da floresta, de tronco despido. A floresta equatorial "terra firme" contém várious escalões de vegetação. As áreas não inundadas são bastante férteis, embora a maior parte do solo da Bacia Amazóllica seja facilmente susceptível à erosão, se a floresta permanece molhada, deixando o solo improdutivo depois de alguns anos. Os níveis baixos da floresta são escuros e monótonos pois as flores são encontradas apenas nos níveis mais altos onde a luz penetra mais.
